ROCK BANDS
HIBS has a strong tradition in producing quality rock bands. The school runs an annual Battle of the Bands competition and are regular features in the Regional and National Finals of the Smokefree Rockquest. We always have a number of bands from all year levels practising on a weekly, timetabled roster in our two fully equipped band rooms. The senior bands get the opportunity to record an EP of original work in their final year.
JUNIOR BAND COACHING

Rock Band Coaching is a programme set up to providing coaching for junior students (years 7 – 9) who currently learn rock instruments and would like to be formed into a band.
The rationale behind the course is that up and coming musicians need an outlet for the skills they are learning from week to week in a format that is appropriate for their instruments. I believe that students learning instruments need to have the opportunity to be part of a collegial music group, all contributing towards a common goal – in this case performing as a Rock Band (and of course worldwide fame and ultimate stardom!!) |
