The Music Department is pleased to announce that approval has been gained from the Board of Trustees for us to start planning a Music Trip to Europe.  The timing for this will be the April holidays in 2025. The trip will run for 13 days. The purpose of the trip is for students to have the opportunity to visit historic places of interest which have been studied in class, perform at a world renown venue, visit famous recording studios, watch live performances and many other exciting cultural experiences.
The trip will have an itinerary similar to this (this will be finalised in term 1 of 2024)
DAY 01: WELLINGTON - AUCKLAND – BUDAPEST
(stopover either Dubai, Singapore or Doha)
DAY 02: BUDAPEST
DAY 03: BUDAPEST
DAY 04: BUDAPEST – VIENNA
DAY 05: VIENNA
DAY 06: VIENNA
DAY 07: VIENNA – SALZBURG
DAY 08:SALZBURG
DAY 09: SALZBURG
DAY 10: SALZBURG – MUNICH
DAY 11: MUNICH
DAY 12: MUNICH – INFLIGHT
DAY 13: LAND AUCKLAND

ITINERARY
The itinerary is still quite flexible at this stage but will be confirmed closer to the end of term 1 as we see which students are wanting to be involved in this amazing opportunity. We will endeavour to tailor the experience to the students interests which will include contemporary rock  as well as more traditional Classical music. Please note that the itinerary shown here is a more classically focused example and ours will include more options to suit our students . (We may even get to see a Bundesliga Football game!!)
INFORMATION EVENING
At our recent information evening, Brent Irmie from Tour Time presented information covering travel, itinerary and insurances. If you were unable to attend the evening, here are three videos where he introduces himself and TourTime, talks about a  proposed itinerary, and what costs are involved - including what travel and medical insurance covers.
